Book Review: Prince of the Blood, by Raymond E. Feist.

Krondor’s Son’s is the second epic fantasy set that I have endeavoured upon. The Rift War Saga was an amazing series and the characters have captured my heart and imagination. This is a seriously good writer and the story line itself is one which is impossible to put down once picked up. And I have not been disappointed in this first book of a two part series. I had always hoped that Arutha’s sons were going to have a future story since their father was such a fantastic and complicated character, I hoped that some of these traits would be passed on. I was again not disappointed in the least.

This book takes the twin prince’s Borric and Erland into territory they are both unfamiliar with and unprepared to deal with. It is with a lot of luck that either of them makes it to the final pages! The story is fast paced and the adventure unravels quickly before the reader before our hearts break from events that will change the future for many of them forever. Emotions run high at various stages throughout this read, but the devastation of separation is one that stays in my mind, as well as the elation of the addition of old friends to the ever growing regal’s and nobles of Sarn.

Overall I have to say I have thoroughly enjoyed this book. Once I started and familiar names and places began to appear on the pages, I found myself easily plunged back into Sarn and the world that contains Pug, Tomas, Arthura, Lyam, Anita, Martin, and so many more fantastic characters. I recommend this book to anyone interested in fantasy fiction. I give this book a rating of 9.5/10 stars.
